About

What this program is about and what you'll achieve.

"Programming Fundamentals with DSA is the ideal first step into programming for Intermediate, Diploma, and college students."

In 10 weeks you will learn C, the foundational language behind operating systems and embedded devices, then move to Python, the most beginner-friendly language for AI, web, and automation, and finally apply both to core Data Structures using Python. Every concept is taught from scratch with hands-on coding, so you build strong logic, write your own programs with confidence, and get a head start on the DSA skills that tech companies test in placement interviews. Classes are available online and offline at our Hyderabad centre, and fit alongside your regular studies.

Curriculum aligned with NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime — India's national framework for tech skill development.

Curriculum

3 parts · 20 modules, from your first program to core data structures.

Introduction to Programming: What is a language, compiler, and interpreter?

History & Significance of C: Why C is called the "Mother of all languages" and its real-world use cases (Operating Systems, Embedded Systems)

Setting Up the Environment: Installing compilers (GCC/MinGW) and IDEs (VS Code, Code::Blocks, or online compilers)

Structure of a C Program: Understanding #include <stdio.h>, int main(), and return 0;

The Compilation Process: How code converts from source code (.c) to an executable

C Character Set & Tokens: Keywords, Identifiers, and Literals

Variables & Constants: How to declare, initialize, and use memory locations

Data Types: Primitive types (int, float, char, double) and modifiers (long, short, unsigned)

Input/Output Functions: Mastering printf() and scanf() with format specifiers (%d, %f, %c)

Escape Sequences: \n (newline), \t (tab), etc.

Operators in C: Priority & Associativity

Decision-Making Statements: Simple if, if-else, nested if-else blocks, and the if-else-if ladder

Multi-way Conditional: switch-case statement with default paths

Entry-controlled loops: while and for loops

Exit-controlled loop: do-while loop

Jump Statements: Using break, continue, and goto effectively

Modular Programming: Introduction to user-defined functions

Function Architecture: Function Declaration, Definition, and Parameters/Arguments

Call by Value vs. Call by Reference (Introduction)

Recursion: Functions calling themselves (e.g., Factorial, Fibonacci)

Scope & Lifetime: Local vs. Global variables

1D Arrays: Declaration, initialization, and memory visualization

2D Arrays (Matrices): Multidimensional arrays, matrix addition, and multiplication

Strings (Character Arrays): Reading strings using gets() / fgets() and printing them

String Handling Functions: Using <string.h> library functions like strlen(), strcpy(), strcat(), and strcmp()

Introduction to Pointers: Memory addresses, the address-of operator (&), and the dereference operator (*)

Pointer Arithmetic: How pointers move through memory

Pointers and Arrays: Relationship between array names and pointers

Pointers & Functions: Passing pointers to functions for direct memory manipulation

Structures: Grouping heterogeneous data types together under one name

Accessing Members: Dot operator (.) and arrow operator (->)

Array of Structures: Managing database-like records (e.g., student records)

Introduction to Python: What is Python? High-level vs. Low-level languages, Compiled vs. Interpreted languages

Why Python?: Readability, massive community, and diverse applications (AI, Web, Automation)

Setting Up the Environment: Installing Python 3.x and using VS Code, PyCharm, or Jupyter Notebooks

Your First Script: Writing print("Hello, World!") and executing it via the terminal

Python Syntax Rules: The importance of indentation (no curly braces {} like C)

Comments: Single-line (#) and multi-line comments/docstrings

Variables & Dynamic Typing: How Python handles memory without explicit declarations

Keywords & Identifiers: Naming conventions and reserved words

Built-in Data Types: int, float, complex, str, bool, and NoneType

Type Casting: Implicit vs. Explicit type conversion (int(), str(), float())

Taking Input: Mastering the input() function and handling its default string behavior

Arithmetic Operators: Including floor division (//) and exponentiation (**)

Comparison & Logical Operators: and, or, not

Assignment & Identity Operators: is and is not

Membership Operators: in and not in (crucial for searching elements)

Bitwise Operators: &, |, ^, ~, <<, >>

Conditional Statements: if, elif, and else blocks

Short-hand If-Else: Ternary operators in Python syntax

Looping Statements: while loop, and for loop iterating through sequences using range()

Loop Control: break, continue, and pass statements

Loops with Else: Understanding Python's unique for-else and while-else logic

Lists: Ordered, mutable collections - indexing, slicing, list methods (append(), pop(), sort()), and List Comprehensions

Tuples: Ordered, immutable collections - tuple packing and unpacking

Sets: Unordered, unindexed, unique collections - set operations (union, intersection, difference)

Dictionaries: Key-value pairs - accessing, updating, and dictionary methods

Defining Functions: def keyword, arguments, and return values

Types of Arguments: Positional, Keyword, Default, and Variable-length arguments (*args and **kwargs)

Scope of Variables: global and nonlocal keywords

Lambda Functions: Anonymous, single-line functions

Built-in Functions: map(), filter(), reduce(), and zip()
